Our Sources & Editorial Standards

PawHub knowledge articles are written by experienced pet owners and cross-checked against these 14 authoritative UK and international sources before publication. Health and safety articles carry no advertising — ever.

Last reviewed: May 2026

How we research articles

  1. Outline against the user's likely intent (informational, transactional, navigational).
  2. Source-check every factual claim against at least one regulator, charity or peer-reviewed source from the list below.
  3. UK-specific review — laws, products and services referenced are valid in England, Scotland, Wales and (where stated) Northern Ireland.
  4. Review cadence — every article is re-reviewed at least every 12 months; legal and travel pages every 6 months.
  5. Conflict of interest — health and safety pages carry no ads, sponsorships or affiliate links of any kind.
